Assiette MASHIKO YAKI

MASHIKO YAKI est un type de poterie produit à Mashiko-machi, Haga-gun de la préfecture de Tochigi, ainsi qu’aux alentours.

L’argile collectée dans la région contient beaucoup de bulles d’air dans le sable, donc il ne convient pas à la confection fine et devient inévitablement épais. La particularité de Mashiko Yaki est son épaisseur et sa texture chaude et rustique. L’argile de Mashiko Yaki s’assemble parfaitement avec son émail, qui est aussi confectionné à Mashiko. Mashiko Yaki est généralement noire lorsqu’elle est brûlée, dû à la nature de l’argile, elle a donc été divisée pour être recouverte d’un émail blanc appelé  Nukajiro.

MASHIKO YAKI is a type of pottery produced in Mashiko-machi, Haga-gun, Tochigi Prefecture and around 

 The clay collected in the area contains a lot of air bubbles in the sand, so it is not suitable for fine workmanship and inevitably becomes thick.  It is characterized by its thickness and warm rustic taste.  The clay of Mashiko Yaki goes very well with the glaze, which is also made in Mashiko.  Mashiko Yaki tends to be black when fired due to the nature of the clay, so it has been devised to cover it with a white glaze called Nukajiro.
